Through the Building Safe and Supportive Communities (BSSC) Programs, we work closely with local schools, businesses, and police departments, connecting them to resources developed by neurodivergent professionals that ensure their environments, systems and policies are inclusive, equitable, and respectful of neurological differences. We offer three distinct BSSC Programs.

BSSC - Safety

Did you know that in the United States, Neurodivergent individuals are seven times more likely to interact with the police than the general population? Due to Communication Barriers, these interactions are often escalated and become a source of severe psychological distress for the neurodivergent individuals.

Through BSSC – Law, our goal is two-fold. BSSC Law provides education, resources and training for law enforcement professionals to equip them with a better understanding of neurodivergent communication and also to provide education, tools and resources to autistic individual to understand what to expect in a police interaction and how to avoid escalation in law enforcement interactions.

Did you know that only 51.1% of individuals with disabilities are employed, compared to 81.3% of non-disabled individuals? Additionally, autistic people have the lowest employment rate of 22 % while almost 60% of people with ADHD have experience job loss and change due to their ADHD symptoms.

Through BSSC – Work, we enable workplaces to tap into the potential of neurodivergent minds. Our goal is to equip businesses, corporations, organizations and local community workplaces with the knowledge, tools and techniques to help them transform their existing practice to an accessible practice that facilitates, supports and empowers neurodivergent people exactly as they are.

BSSC - Teach

Did you know that only about 14% of students with disabilities in the United States enrolling in college, compared to 65% of non-disabled student. Moreover, the high school graduation rate for disabled students is around 50%, compared to a graduation rate of 89% for non-disabled students.

Through the BSSC- Teach, our goal is to equip schools, colleges and universities with resources, training, tools and techniques to help them provide a nourishing environment for neurodivergent students. Through this program we enable the academic institutions to provide accessible education, supportive teaching environments and to offer equitable opportunities for neurodivergent students.

“Building safe and supportive communities for neurodivergent people is not only a matter of fairness and justice, but it is also an investment in the future of humanity. By embracing the unique strengths and perspectives of neurodiversity, we can create communities that are more resilient, innovative, and inclusive”.

Untapped Potential

Did you know that neurodivergent individuals often have unique strengths including but not limited to exceptional problem-solving abilities, creative thinking skills, and being attention to detail?  Still only 16% of neurodivergent individuals are employed full-time, compared to 49% of the general population. This is a significant missed opportunity for organizations, as embracing neurodiversity and tapping into the potential of neurodivergent workforce can improve productivity, profitability and innovation.

Impact & Connection

While creating neurodiversity acceptance in our local communities is important to us, we also recognize that there are countless neurodivergent people around the world who are not receiving the support and accommodations they need to thrive. That’s why, in the BSSC program, we have a strong commitment to expanding our reach and advocating for neurodiversity on a global scale. Our vision is to provide these programs locally as well as globally to support and empower neurodivergent people all around the world.

Program Sustainability

The BSSC program is a continuous effort to create safe and supportive communities for neurodivergent people. Through our three-track program, we make our environments, communities, systems and institutions not only supportive and inclusive but most importantly accessible for neurodivergent people. BSSC Program Sustainability strongly depends on our partnerships with organizations and institutions who understand the importance of neurodiversity and the value neurodivergent people add.
